Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
- Add buttermilk and mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly in the pan.
- Mix lemon juice and powdered sugar to make the glaze and pour it over the warm cake.
- Once cooled, mix frosting ingredients and spread evenly over the cake.
